How Much Does a Wall Mural Cost in Utah?
What printed wall murals and interior wall wraps cost in Utah in 2026, what moves the price, how long the install takes, and how a printed mural compares with a hand-painted one — from a Logan shop that installs them across Salt Lake County.
A printed wall mural or wall wrap in Utah runs about $650 to $5,500 and up, installed. A single accent wall in an office sits at the low end; a two-story block wall, a multi-wall scene, or a whole break room sits at the top. The price is driven by square footage, the wall surface, and the lift or scaffold the install needs — not by how detailed the artwork is.
What does a printed wall mural cost?
Our published range for wall murals and wall wraps is $650 to $5,500 and up, and almost every job lands inside it. Print is priced by the square foot, so the wall size sets the base; the surface and the access set the rest.
A smooth, painted drywall wall in an office is the simplest case. Painted cinder block — the surface in most warehouses, gyms and big-box back-of-house walls — takes a conformable film and more install time, because the vinyl has to be worked into every mortar line without breaking the image. A wall that needs a scissor lift or a bucket truck adds equipment and a second installer.
Detail in the artwork does not change the print cost. A photographic lake scene and a flat brand color cost the same per square foot; what you pay for is the wall.
| Project | Where it lands in the range | What moves the price |
|---|---|---|
| Accent wall or lobby logo wall, office drywall | Low end | Wall size, whether letters are dimensional or printed |
| Feature wall wrapped edge to edge in a brand color | Low to middle | Square footage, outlets and fixtures to cut around |
| Menu wall or photographic mural, single wall | Middle | Square footage, panel matching, framing |
| Two-story mural on painted block, lift required | Upper | Height, block texture, lift rental, two installers |
| Multi-wall scene wrapping corners and doorways | Upper | Total square footage, continuity across breaks |
| Whole interior: entry mural, break room, feature walls | Top of range and up | Total wall count, scheduling around store hours |
Printed mural or hand-painted mural — which costs less?
For anything larger than a small accent, printed wins on price and on schedule. A printed mural is produced in the shop in a day or two and installed in one to two days; a hand-painted mural of the same size is billed by the artist’s hours over a week or more, and the wall is out of use the whole time.
Printed also wins on repeatability. Walmart has used the same illustrated murals across stores in Utah and Idaho; a painter cannot reproduce a wall in a second building to spec. If the artwork is your brand, print it.
Where paint still makes sense: a raw, unsealed exterior masonry wall, or a one-off piece of art where the brushwork is the point. For interior brand graphics, printed film on wall-rated vinyl is the standard.
How long does a wall mural take?
Plan on three to ten business days from approved artwork to finished wall. Production is one to two days of printing and laminating; most single-wall installs happen in a day, and a two-story or multi-wall job takes two to three days on site.
Interior murals need no city permit, which is why they turn faster than exterior signs. The schedule risk is the building, not the print: the wall has to be cured paint, clean and dry, and the space has to be clear of furniture and fixtures on install day.
How long does a printed wall mural last?
Indoors, a wall-rated printed film lasts well beyond five years — the materials carry a five-year warranty and the installation carries a lifetime workmanship guarantee. Sunlight through a storefront window is the main thing that shortens the life of interior graphics, and a UV laminate handles it.
When the brand changes, the mural comes off. Wall film is removable from properly painted drywall without taking the paint with it, which is the other reason businesses choose it over paint.
What should a business budget for interior branding?
A single lobby wall with a dimensional logo or a printed brand wall is the common starting point and sits at the low end of the range. A restaurant menu wall or a gym’s feature mural sits in the middle. A store opening with an entry mural, a break-room wall and a feature wall is a top-of-range project, and it is still a fraction of what the same square footage of exterior signage costs.
Budget the walls alongside the sign and the fleet rather than as a separate line. The same artwork file drives all three, and doing them from one shop is how the green on the wall ends up the same green on the truck.
