Chrome delete is the highest ROI cosmetic upgrade we offer. For under $1,500 on most vehicles, every shiny exterior trim piece — window surrounds, badges, side moldings, mirror caps, grille frames — disappears, replaced with satin black, gloss black, or a matched wrap color. The visual change is dramatic: the car reads as more aggressive, more modern, more European. Tesla owners do this within their first month because the bright window trim ages a Model 3 cosmetically. BMW and Mercedes owners do it because the black-on-black look that comes on M and AMG models is what they actually want on their non-M car. We do roughly 10 chrome deletes a month and they’re typically done as a same-day or two-day visit.
What Counts as "Chrome Delete"
On most vehicles, chrome delete includes: window trim (the bright strip around door windows), front and rear badges (manufacturer logos and model badges), grille surround, fog light surrounds, side molding strips, mirror caps, exhaust tip surrounds (where applicable), and door handle accents. We can include or exclude any of these per the customer’s preference. Some customers want to keep the front badge for brand identity but delete everything else; some want a fully unbadged "stealth" look. We confirm scope at intake with photos.
Finish Options
Satin Black is the most popular — matches OEM blacked-out trim packages on M, AMG, S-Line, and similar trims. Gloss Black is more aggressive — reads as a distinct accent rather than disappearing. Matte Black is the deepest, but visible micro-marring on trim pieces is harder to manage — we recommend satin instead. Color-matched chrome delete (e.g., satin sand on a Bronco, gloss white on a Model Y) is rare but stunning — we keep matched stock for current factory colors of major brands.
Tesla-Specific Notes
Tesla’s "chrome delete" is one of the most-requested mods we handle, given how many Teslas drive the Cache Valley. On Model 3 and Model Y, the package typically includes window trim, door handles, mirror caps, and rear badge. Some customers also delete the front Tesla T — we can do this and keep the camera operational. Cybertruck has minimal chrome by design, so the equivalent service is satin-wrapping the brushed stainless panels (a different, more involved job covered on the Cybertruck wrap page).
